It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Rooney (Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania), born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 18, 2019, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Smith and Elsie Smith (Taylor); her husband Charles W. Rooney; her daughter Gwen; and her siblings, James Smith, Leona Wyandt, Melda Wilt, Edith Dodson and Anna Mary Riley.
She is survived by: her children, Charlotte Thompson (Robin), Colleen Hughes (Tim) and Chuck Rooney (Cheryl); her grandchildren, Stefanie Dodson, Ryan Hughes (Joy), Erin Rajala (Brett), Nicole Britton and Chas; her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Cherry, Hannah, Mark Hughes, Allison, Hailey, Emily Rajala, Avalyn and Willow Britton; and her siblings, Joyce Bucher and Woody Smith (Helen). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
