He is survived by: his wife Vicky Murtagh; his children, Brenda Malone and Brian Butler; his grandchildren, Jina, John and Jessica; and his siblings, Frederick Smith (Monica) and Catherine Louise Skvarka (Michael). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
