It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Nancy Hesser (Gates) Greenleaf of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 25, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Hesser and Isabelle Hesser (Luther); her husband Frank C. Greenleaf; her son James L. Gates; and her brothers, Lawrence Hesser Jr., Matthew Hesser Sr. and Joseph Hesser.
She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth A. Whitco (David) of North Apollo, Mark E. Gates (Claudia) of Silver Spring, MD, John N. Gates (Regina) of Fort Lauderdale, FL and David W. Gates (Sherri) of Ellicott City, MD; and her grandchildren, Travis Whitco (Emily), Christin Testa (Simon), Tyler Gates, Jesse Gates (Kerri), Julie Good (Daniel), Jaclyn Gates, Amanda Gates, Zachary Gates and Emily Gates. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Nancy's memory to Garvey Manor Nursing Home, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, located at: 1037 S. Logan Blvd, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 where she received excellent care for the past five years.
