He was predeceased by: his parents, Luis Osvaldo Araneda Bravo and Elcira Cabezas Figueroa; his siblings, Nestor Araneda and Nancy Araneda; his former wife Stella Maris Araneda; and his wife Constance Araneda.
He is survived by: his children, Jorgelina Araneda (Randall Stroud) of Raleigh, NC, Luis Araneda III (Emily Darsey Wilkinson) of Spain and Adrian Araneda of St. Petersburg, FL; his grandchildren, Max Araneda, Izzy Araneda and Rachel Stroud Corvin; his great grandchildren, Claire and Elizabeth Corvin; and his brother Rodolfo Araneda of Chile.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alzheimer's Association, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, in Dr. Araneda's memory.
