He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Chewning and Elizabeth Chewning (Grotz); and his siblings, Delores Churchray, Edgar Jr., Sidney and John.

He is survived by: his wife Annette (Palmer); his children, Jennifer of Hollidaysburg and Leslie Jr. (Giovanna) of Secane; his grandchildren, Aidan, Ariana, Brianna, Parker and Zachary; and his sister Beverly. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
