He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Edwin and Grace Smith (Bayne); his wife Ruth Ann Fassett of Mary's Catholic Church; and his brothers, Thomas Smith and Raymond Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Lawrence David Smith (Jennifer) of Natrona Heights, William Edward Smith of Dallas, TX and Jane Elizabeth Babiak (James) of Duncansville, PA; his grandchildren, Seth Daniel, Kyle Davis, Kiersten Paulette (Christopher), Justin Nathaniel and Lawrence Morgan; his great grandchild Harlow Paul; and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Smith of Brackenridge and Willard "Bud" Fassett (Carol) of Butler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
