Wharton of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, born in Bellwood, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 1, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George O. Wharton and Hilda Ann Wharton (Beck); his wife Sarah Jane Simm; his brothers, William and Paul Wharton; and his daughter-in-law Dena.
He is survived by: his children, Gregory Wharton (Connie), Joseph Wharton II (Carolyn), Jeffrey Wharton (Brenda), Johnathan Wharton, Christopher Wharton (Gretchen), Janice Niewola (Rick) and Mary Vancil (Kevin); and his sister Helen Rossi. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to "Sally Wharton Scholarship Endowment" at Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School.
