He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marie Leone Nickloy and George Linville Pinkerman; his wife Sylvia Jane McCracken; his children, Michelle Marie Samson (Michael) of Gallitzin, Pennsylvania and Patrick Kelly Pinkerman (Denise) of Florence; his grandchildren, Andrew Michael Samson of Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, Caitlin Michelle Samson of Pleasant Gap, Pennsylvania, Tessa Nicole Pinkerman and Kayla Grace Pinkerman of Florence; his great grandchildren, Juliana Elizabeth Nedimyer of Tyrone, Preston Andrew Samson and Dominic James Samson of Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania.; his brother Lynn Norman Pinkerman (Peggy) of Loudon, Tennessee; his nephews, Jayson (Christine) of Hilliard and Gary (Sarah) of Frisco, Texas.; his sister-in-law Roberta Josephine Crowley; his nephew Michael Edward Crowley (Patti) of Stillwater; his niece Rhonda Sue Crowley Cook of Sedalia, Missouri.; and his grandparents, George and Marie.
This led to his attending summer programs sponsored by the National Science Foundation which included housing for his family.
