He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul E. Shaffer and Jennie Hearn (Rhodes); his daughter Janet; his brother John; and his grandson Adam.
He is survived by: his wife Minnie W. (Mayes); his children, Beth Ann Sutton of Duncansville, Sherry Harker of Altoona, Melissa Smith of Reading, Holly Shaffer, Donald Wyatt of Hollidaysburg and Chuck (Cris) of Flinton; and his siblings, Susan Hearn, Cathy Montgomery (Jeff), Colleen Wilson (Al) and Alan Hearn (Dorie). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
