He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover C. Negley and Florence Negley (Garlin); and his siblings, Eleanor Mummert, Mary Zeiders, Dorothy Pyles, Janet Craumer, Grover Jr., John and Jesse.

He is survived by: his wife Mae (Lehman); his children, Wendell (Lois), Brenda Sims (Troy), Lowell (Deborah) and Merrill (Melinda); his grandchildren, Zachery (Ashlee), Rachel Farrell (Brian), Joshua, Lydia Keane (Thomas III), Emily Wingert (Riley), April, Luke (Julie), Caleb, Francis Sims (Audrey), Daniel (Katherine), Micah (Lauren), Rebekah Beck (Justin) and James; and his sister Ivy Bankert. He is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren.
