He was predeceased by : his brother Robert McDermott. He is survived by : his wife Chere; his children, Teresa Frey, David McDermott (Kristine) and Paul McDermott; his brother Bernard McDermott (Barbara); his sister-in-law Amy J. McDermott; and his grandchildren, Ross Frey, Riley, Damon, Madelyn and Mollie McDermott.

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home (241 E Butler Ave, New Britain, PA 18901). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
