He was predeceased by : his parents, Wesley T. Richards and Martha Richards (Crayne). He is survived by : his wife Georgia Richards (Lafferty); his stepdaughter Marie Nelson (Chip); his granddaughters, Shanttia, Daysha Nelson and Allison Rirbas-Olmos; his great grandchildren, Alexa and Aydan Baker; his siblings, Erika Wilford (Richard), James Richards of Blairsville, PA and Denise Patterson of Altoona, PA; his nieces and nephews, Kevin Wilford (Sarah) and Hanna Wilford; and his great-nephew Chase Bandremer.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to either his church or or the Samaritan's Purse.
