He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Weist and Leah Weist (Reigle); and his sister June Shope. He is survived by: his wife Leola (Burkett); his children, Edward L. Weist, Jr. (Annemarie) and Jennifer Schwartz (Scott); his grandchildren, Genevieve Weist, Edward Weist, III and Hannah Schwartz; his sister Doris Lynn; and his sisters-in-law, Kathleen Waligora and Lois Schultz.
