She is survived by: her children, Donald Russell, Dyane Marie, Donna Kristina (Chrzanowski) and Darryl Enoch.

Hummel, 86, passed peacefully at home of natural causes on July 29, 2018, in Hershey. She is survived by four children, Donald Russell (Jr.), Dyane Marie, Donna Kristina (Chrzanowski), and Darryl Enoch, 11 grandchildren and three great grand-children. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Russell (Sr.), two sons, David Charles (at age 19) and Douglas Logan (at age 15). Graduating from Newark High School, Newark, Del., she received degrees from Coppin State University, McDaniel College, and Pennsylvania State University. Dorothy was an educator extraordinaire. She was a high school principal, special education teacher, education director, adjunct professor, family and grief counselor, 4-H leader, and judge of county and state fairs. She taught on the Queen Elizabeth II and other notable cruise ships. Her love of travel took her to over 35 countries. She was an avid volunteer for women's, children's and political advocacy causes. Per Dorothy's request her body has been donated to science. A celebration of her life is being planned for a future date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to 4-H.org.
