It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Claude Peter Swartzbaugh Jr. of Hershey, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Claude Peter leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Claude Peter may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Sr. Swartzbaugh and Harriett Swartzbaugh (Bupp); his sister Jean Spangler; and his son-in-law Joel Sheaffer. He is survived by: his wife Louise Swartzbaugh (Bartenslager); and his daughters, Melodie Bedford, Cristal Sheaffer and Lisa Lithgow (Jim). He is also survived by five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A masonic service will be held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory (88 Lucy Ave, Hershey, PA 17033). Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 1:15 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (64 W Chocolate Ave, Hershey, PA 17033).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to Hershey First United Methodist Church, 64 West Chocolate Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033.
