He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Edward Summers and Nellie Franklin Kline Summers; his son Gary Lee Summers; and his sister Bernice Summers Landis. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Elaine Risser Summers; his son Dr. Dale Edward Summers; his daughter-in-law Linda Summers of St. Louis, Missouri; his brother Roy Edward Summers (Jean); his brother-in-law John Landis; his grandchildren, Shannon Robert Summers (Melanie) and Dr. Shelby Summers Ballard (Kevin) of Oxford, Ohio; and his great grandchildren, Charles David Summers and Danielle Rose Summers.
