He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Chapman and Thelma Moore (Cromartie); his grandparents, Julius Chapman, Gladys Jackson and Sarah Lewis; his uncle William Chapman; his brothers, Earl Chapman and Wendell Cromartie; and his stepson Cedric Downes.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Chapman (Burks); his children, Cecilia Chapman-Samuels (Joseph) of Nashville, TN and Tamatha Darden (Aaron) of Farrell, PA; his stepchildren, Lisa Dukes (Jonothon) of Norcross, GA, Mattie Freeman of Sharon, PA, Christopher Downes of Nashville, TN and Mansa Nze of Farrell, PA.; and his siblings, Herman Chapman of Queens, NY, William "Coot" Chapman (Elizabeth) of Farrell, PA and Denise Smith (Richard) of Bronx, NY.. He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
