It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thelma Chakan of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, born in Erie, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 1, 2012, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred M. Wharry and Maddie Wharry (Craine); her husband William G. Chakan Sr.; her son William G. Chakan Jr.; and her siblings, Bertha Shook and William F. Wharry.
She is survived by: her daughter Susanne Chakan-Gilbert (Gary M. Gilbert) of New York; her sister Marge Scott (Harmon) of Memphis, Tenn.; and her granddaughter Tammi. She is also survived by two greatgrandchildren.
