With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Salvatore J. Tate of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, born in Clymer, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 8, 2021 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert R. Tate and Mary Tate (Long); his wife Barbara L. Thompson; his daughter Cynthia Gurrera; and his brothers, Albert, Donald and Mark Tate.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Schmalz (Robert) of Scottsdale, AZ, Bradley Tate of Hermitage and James Tate (Tracy) of Apex, NC; his son-in-law Richard Gurrera; his grandchildren, Ronald, Lukas Gurrera, Andrew, Hannah Tate, Nicholas, Brian Schmalz and Zachary Schmalz; and his siblings, Mary Lou Downing of Rock Hill, SC, Susanne Sciacchitano of Ocala, FL and David Tate (Sandra) of North Canton, OH..
Due to Covid-19, there are no services at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Shenango Valley YMCA, 925 North Hermitage Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
