He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Montesano and Carmela Montesano (Cantalice); his significant other Margie L. Hardin; and his siblings, Lucille Gigliotti, Marie Anric-Williams, Margaret Cerroni, Yolanda Monteson, Philip, Anthony "Hutch" Monteson and Lucy Monteson.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Monteson, Robert Monteson, Jr. (Pamela), Audrey Ordonez (Roberto), Lisa George (Sharon) and Janice Neider (Richard); his sister Virginia Joseph; his siblings-in-law, Henry Hardin (Lu) and Hazel Fitzgerald; his grandchildren, Michael, Melissa Monteson, Gabrielle, April Ordonez, Natalie Croyle (Shawn), Margo, Anthony, Christopher George, Nicole, Jennifer and Ricky Neider; his great grandchildren, Ava Ordonez, Aiden Croyle and Genevieve Hooper; and his cousin Marianna Marmorato. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
