He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Lee" and Mary Thornburg, Sr. (Gariglio); and his son James Thornburg. He is survived by: his wife Lucille Crocco; his son Robert L. Thornburg, III (Patricia); his grandchildren, Michele, Leslie, James and Daniel; and his sister Dorothy Coffman of Weirton, WV.. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
