He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Mauthe Mitchell and Benjamin W. Mitchell; and his wife Alice Lorraine Cable. He is survived by: his sons, David L. Mitchell, Jeffrey A. (Cynthia), Augusta and Robert L. Mitchell Jr. (Sharon). He is also survived by six grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
