He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward J. Kavanagh and Alice M. Kavanagh (Kelly); his former wife Phyllis Canady; and his daughter Nancy Kavanagh. He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Thomas; his son Stephen Kavanagh (Agnieszka) of Hermitage; his grandson Alexander; and his siblings, Joan Feeney (James) of Sharon, Eileen Buchanan of Hermitage, Catherine Hammer of Hermitage and Thomas Kavanagh (Elaine) of Hermitage. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
