He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Ellerbe Sr. and Lula Floyd Ellerbe; his siblings, Ethel Bostic, Cliffie Dimery, Annie Belle Williams, Edith McLain, Arthur, Prince, Thomas, Fred, Samuel and Allen Ellerbe; his granddaughter Sohnnette R. Ellebie Harrison; and his close friend Elsie Tatum Henry.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth A. Carter of Greenville, PA; his children, John Steven, Richard G., Beverly J., Yolanda M. D. Ellebie and Doran; his grandchildren, Gerald Culp, Lindsay Ellebie, Richard Ellebie (Nick), Sheri Ellebie, Morgan Roseboro, Dior Crumby, Quinton Smith, Sharon Smith, Amber Smith, Jordyn Rhodes, Joana James and Ashlee Herron; his sister Lula Brown of Bennettsville, SC.; and his children, Karen Tatum McLean, Darlene Henry Pope and Laverne Henry. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
