He was predeceased by: his parents, William S. Fennell and Ellen Fennell (O'Connell); his wife Alice M. Fennell (Gesler); and his siblings, John D. "Dale" Fennell, Eugene Fennell, JoAnn Haines and Charlotte Johnston.
He is survived by: his sons, James R. Fennell (Nedra) of Russell, Charles S. Fennell (Susan) of Fredericksburg and Robert T. Fennell (Marie) of Richmond; his grandchildren, Matthew Fennell (Brittany), J. Jansen Fennell (Megan), Janine Fennell, Christopher Fennell (Elizabeth), Emily Fennell-Gibbons (Dylan) and Josh Compton (Rachel); his great grandchildren, Raegan Fennell, Addison Fennell, Logan Fennell, Anna Compton and Nara Compton; and his sister Mary Elizabeth Blatney of Greensburg. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
