It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Kolesar Hornicak of Herman, Pennsylvania, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 5, 2023, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John J. Kolesar and Elizabeth Monyak Kolesar; her husband John B. Hornicak; and her brothers, John Kolesar and Jim Kolesar.
She is survived by: her daughters, Elizabeth Seward (Blake) of Evans and Cynthia Kramer (James) of Herman; her sister Elaine DePolo (Dennis) of Ohio; her grandchildren, Alissa Kowal, Jennifer Groton (Mike) and James W. Kramer; and her great grandchildren, Christopher Logan (Missy), Jonathan Seward (Chelsea), Anthony Kowal, Paige Groton and Blake Groton. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Herman Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 87, Herman, PA 16039, in gratitude for all the fire company has done for Helen and the community.
