Marcus E. Dent Sr. Obituary
Marcus Emmett Dent, Sr. was welcomed into heaven on March 25, 2023. Born on September 28, 1968 in Philadelphia he is the beloved son to Monica (nee Snyder) and the late Robert Dent.
Upon graduating from North Catholic High School in 1986, he went on to Temple University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Finance. During his studies at Temple, he met the love of his life and best friend, Brigitte (nee Jordan) and their family blossomed. He was a devoted husband for 32 years, cherished father to Marcus Emmett Dent, Jr. (Rachel), Connor Gerard Dent and Avery Elizabeth Dent, doting Bucky to his two grandsons Marcus Emmett Dent III and Kelly Michael Dent, dear brother to Matthew Dent (Theresa), deeply loved brother-in-law and uncle, and friend to countless. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Through his hard work and dedication, Marc achieved much success in the asset management industry over two-and-a-half decades before he made the decision to pursue his passion for coffee and his local community. In 2020, Marc co-founded and opened the doors to "House Cup Coffee Cafe". The cafe has quickly become a beloved gathering place for the Havertown community.
When Marc was not working, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, friends and neighbors. He was always the life of the party and had an incredible ability to bring a smile to the faces of those in his presence. Especially when he found (or made) the opportunity to give an impassioned speech or cook an epic meal for family and friends. That will be a big part of his legacy.
Through all of his accomplishments, Marc never forgot his roots in Frankford. It was in this tightly knit neighborhood that Marc forged lifelong relationships with friends he considered family.
Although Marc's time here on earth was far too short, his memory and love will live on in the hearts of all the lives he touched. Furthermore, his Spotify playlist "fun meter" will play on forever.
Relatives and friends are invited to Marc's Life Celebration on Sunday April 2, 2023 from 7 pm to 9 pm at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike. An additional viewing will be held at Sacred Heart Church of Havertown, 105 Wilson Ave on Monday April 3, 2023 from 9:30 am to 10:15 am with his Funeral Mass to Follow at 10:30 am. Interment will be private.
