He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornellius Shannon and Amelia Shannon; and his son Michael Trageser. He is survived by: his wife Robyn Derrickson Shannon; his children, Michelle Bilyeu, Karyn Beck and Joseph P. Shannon, Jr.; and his siblings, Donald Shannon, Dennis Shannon, Patricia Cleary and Kathy Deibert.
