He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ahearn and Elizabeth Ahearn; his wife Lorraine C. Ahearn; and his siblings, John, Joan, Elizabeth and Edmund "Butch".
He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Ahearn (Bernadette), Michael Ahearn (Joanna), Paul Ahearn (Paula) and John Ahearn (Colleen); and his grandchildren, Daniel III, Kelly Ann, Brendan, Rebecca, Jennifer, Allison, John-Paul, Michael, Patrick and Audrey. He is also survived by his family, watching his grandchildren.
