He is survived by: his children, Thomas Abbonizio (Marissa), Karen Abbonizio (Joseph), Peter Abbonizio (Helene), Anthony Abbonizio Gian-Carlo (Leita) and Sofia Abbonizio (Beth Ann Abbonizio); his grandchildren, Jimmy, TJ, Alyssa, Brooke, Isabella and Matthew; his great grandchildren, Kylie and James; and his sister Joanne Malia.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in Carl's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
