With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Matthew Daniel Clayton of Haverford, Pennsylvania, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 27, 2020 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Thomas Clayton, Sr. and Beatrice Harrington Clayton; his brothers, William M. Clayton and Alan C. Clayton; his sister-in-law Cynthia Clayton; his cousin Ida Mae Clayton; his mother-in-law Janet Carter; and his brothers-in-law, Theodore Carter and Raymond Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Ramona E. Clayton; his children, Rebecca E. Clayton, Monique Scott (Sean Scott, MD) and Matthew D. Clayton II; his grandchildren, Sean and Jasmine; his brothers, Samuel T. Clayton, Jr., Richard J. Clayton, MD, Frederick W. Clayton, Roland L. Clayton, Nathaniel D. Clayton, Bishop Michael A. Clayton, Sr. and Stephen P. Clayton; his sisters-in-law, Diane Clayton, Kathleen Clayton, Norma Clayton, Delores Clayton, Judy Clayton and Helena Carter; and his cousin John Clayton. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
There will be a private family viewing and private graveside funeral services in light of the current pandemic.
