He was predeceased by: his wife Frances Phifer (Sabol); his parents, William Phifer and Blanche Phifer (Reustle); his daughter Lori Schmitz; and his grandson Stephen Schmitz.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeffrey S. Phifer (Diane) of Hatfield and Christopher R. Phifer (Carolyn) of Lansdale; his son-in-law Eric Schmitz of Towamencin; and his grandchildren, Kristin, Andrew, Tyler, Rachel, Kaitlyn, Amanda and Ryan.
