He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve "Skip" Kozub and Anna Kozub (Brenza); his siblings, Paul Kozub, Margaret Kozub, Mary Thomas and Helen Spahr; his brothers-in-law, Kevin Thomas and Patrick Spahr; and his niece Cheryl May (Kozub).

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Kozub (Collinash); his son Stephen P. Kozub of Austintown, OH; his stepsons, Ray Hoppel (Yvonne) of Lewistown, PA, Scott Hoppel (Jessica) and New Stanton; his grandchildren, Gianna, Grady, Peyton and Piper; his sister Sally Wharton (David); and his nieces and nephews, Stephanie Wharton, Craig, Jennifer, Kiah Wharton, Matt, Jill and Silas Wharton.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (147 7th Ave, Hastings, PA 16646). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, September 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
