He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Basista and Anna Basista (Bendzala); his wife Martha Marie Basista (Bobik); and his siblings, John Basista and Margaret Chura.
He is survived by: his sons, Christopher Basista (Linda) of Fort Washington, MD and Kirk Basista; and his sister Helen Storer, MD of Paul Basista, OH. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
