He was predeceased by: his parents, Merritt Surrena and Wilhelmina Surrena (McGill); and his sister Claytine Filer. He is survived by: his close friend Cyndie Mellott; his daughters, Shannon Surrena (Timothy Straite) of Jamestown, PA and Jennifer Surrena; and his sister Joann Barrett.
