She was predeceased by: her parents, William Kennedy Speer and Kathleen Ruth Hogue Speer; her husband Robert P. Barnes; her son Stanley Bruce Barnes; and her siblings, William Arthur Speer, John Boggs Speer, David Dale Speer and Ruth Ella Jaskol.
She is survived by: her children, Ruth Ella, Mary Frances, John and David; her close friend Velma Barr; her sons, Robert Lee Barnes (Linda) of Harrisville, Richard P. Barnes (Margaret) of Boardman, OH and Dr. William Sylvan "Van" Barnes (Jenifer) of Stuart, FL; her sister Mary Frances Urbach Parry of Youngstown, OH; and her sisters-in-law, Gladys Speer of Slippery Rock and Andrea Speer of New Castle, DE. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents donated land in 1966 where two churches (Faith OPC and New Hope OPC) joined to become Calvary OPC.
