She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Essie (DeShong) of Virginia and Ellis Ray Decker; her husband Fred E. Mellott; her former husband Guy Shives; her son Randall Shives; her siblings, Ralph Strait and Anna Hollinshead; and her grandson Christopher Conner.
She is survived by: her children, Meredith, Carol Buterbaugh (Gary Rouzer) of Harrisonville, PA, Julie and Jody; her grandson Tony; and her granddaughter-in-law Amy Conner of McConnellsburg, PA. She is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren.
