He was predeceased by: his parents, Pleasant DeShong and Myrtle DeShong (Keefer); his former wife Theda DeShong; and his siblings, Mary McFadden, Heidi DeShong, Theda Sloat, Dottie Oakman, Gretta DeShong and P. LeRoy DeShong.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann DeShong; his children, Manasseh I. DeShong of Chambersburg, PA and Ruth A.; his stepchildren, Diana Martin of Cumberland, MD and Keith Rice of Cumberland, MD; and his sisters, Lottie Sheetz of St. Thomas, PA and Joan Kautz. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
