He was predeceased by: his parents, John Paul Jr. and Anna Bonay (Weber); his grandson Bryan Michael Klein; and his siblings, Thomas Bonay, Barbara Humeniuk, Mary Lou Bonay and Debbie Ashbaugh.

He is survived by: his wife Jackie; his children, Darla Klein (Greg), Kathaleen Brady and John Paul Bonay IV (Karen); his grandchildren, Nikki Welsh (Zach), Michael Brady (Kaylin), Corrie Brady, Nicole Bonay, John Paul Bonay V and Paul Bonay; his great grandchildren, Ethan, William and Rio; his brother Larry Bonay (Dorian); and his sister-in-law Marsha Bonay. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
