He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Edward and Marion Louise Wertz (Harris); and his brother William Wertz. He is survived by: his wife Helen L. Wertz (Loughner); his daughters, Wendy Gogets (Greg) of North Huntingdon, Amanda Farbarik (Ray) of Irwin and Kathie Wertz of Harrison City; his grandsons, Adam Gogets (Amber) and Grant Gogets; and his siblings, Carolyn Johnson of North Huntingdon and Kurt Wertz of Harrison City. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
