He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Koester and Elaine Koester (Aronow). He is survived by: his siblings, David, Bill, John, Jane Sarver and Sandra Darr; his niece Eliana Darr; his nephews, Mike and Tim Dolan; and his daughter Shoshanna Koester (Nancy Sponeybarger).
