He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Gunning, Sr. and Thelma Gunning. He is survived by: his daughters, Martha Gunning-Holton (Terry) and Cheryl Marie Gunning; his grandchildren, Aunyia N. Fields and Andrew Treyvon Gunning; his siblings, Sharon Gilchrist (Charles Wright), Marla Gunning, Rodney Gunning (Connie) and Roscoe Gunning (Anique); and his nieces and nephews, Janeé Gilchrist-Corbin (Noel), Keisha Gilchrist-Broomes (Chris), Aja Gunning-Paige (Bryan), Aaron Gunning (Tonya), Amber Gunning-Cosme (Juan), Quion Gunning and Qyler Gunning.
Viewing will be held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hooper Memorial Home Inc. (3532 Walnut St, Harrisburg, PA 17109). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. (3532 Walnut St, Harrisburg, PA 17109).
A proud graduate of Millersburg University, Oscar earned his degree in music theory and composition and made significant contributions to his field.
