He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sedgwick and Mary Emma Sedgwick (Pitts); and his siblings, Vera Grinage, William, Purnell and Ferdinand Sedgwick.

He is survived by: his wife Betty A. Sedgwick; his sister Arlene Pullum of Chase, Maryland; and his son Ronnie Haigood of Atlanta. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
