He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Carter and Elsie Carter (Bloomingburg). He is survived by: his former wife Geneva Carter; his stepmother Seama H. Carter; his siblings, Bobbie Carter, Archa Mae Logan, Jessie Mae Johnson and Myrtis D. Lawrence; his wife Gladys Carter; his children, Johnny L. Johnson Jr., Andrea Carter and Shayla Thomas; his brother Jimmie Carter; his stepdaughters, Angela Braddy and Latoya Braddy; and his grandchildren, Deondray JaRon Govan, Ron Jae Drien Govan Jr., Jillian L. Johnson, Mattilee Johnson, Delores Johnson, Jaiden Vines, Chance Smith and Arashae Braddy. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
