It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Washington (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania), who passed away on January 6, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Helen Washington to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Pitts and Emily Goldsboro Pitts; her husband Wilson Washington (Sparky); her son Herbie; her brothers, Charles, James, Frederick and Harvey; her sisters-in-law, Emily and Memphis; and her daughters-in-law, Alease and Sheryl.

She is survived by: her children, Sharon Washington (Murphy), Reese, Edward, Kenneth, Brad (Stevie) and Otis (Silena); her adoptive daughter Wendy Lowe; her niece Alice Pitts McArthur (Peaches); her close friend Pauline Waters; and her aunt Ruth Ridgeway of Georgia. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 25, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church (212 N Progress Ave, Harrisburg, PA 17109). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
