Harvey Hadrick Pitts Sr. Obituary

HARVEY HADRICK PITTS, 66, of Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Monday, February 14, 2022 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He waved good-bye to all his earthly Valentines and went on home to heaven to be with his heavenly Valentine, Jesus Christ and to reunite with his parents, his sisters, Darlene and Beverly and his brother, Freddy. He was born in Harrisburg, the son of the late Memphis C. "Patsy" Thompson Pitts and the late Frederick Pitts, Sr. He received his formal education in the Harrisburg School District, graduating from Harrisburg High School with the Class of 1974.

His working career began at the West Shore Country Club, continued at the Volunteers of America and finally at Fisher Auto Parts where he worked for the past 39 years. Harvey married the love of his life, his soulmate and best friend, Vicki Brown on June 13th, 1981 and to this union, they were blessed with two sons, Harvey, Jr. and Mister. Harvey had his own personal relationship with Christ, which was evident in his life and his everyday living. He was a man who put his family first, who had a warm friendly smile that he shared with his family, his friends and those he met along the way.

In his leisure, he enjoyed spending time with his buddies, Kenneth Washington and Robert Travis. Harvey was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles' fan. He loved Lebron James, but was also a 76'er fan. Harvey really loved his music. Harvey was also a devoted family man, who found immense joy in spending precious moments with his grandchildren and great grands. They were the source of his joy and being around them while encouraging and loving all over them, meant the world to him. They were all, his special gems from God.

He leaves behind to cherish memories of him; his adoring, devoted wife, Victoria Pitts, his sons, Mister Pitts (Almetis) and Harvey Pitts II (Keisha); his siblings and their spouses, Stanley and Joyce Pitts, Ronald and Cathy Pitts, Fredrick Pitts, Jr., Deborah Pitts and Kathleen and Paul Smith; his brothers-in-law and spouses, Walter and Kathleen Brown, Ernie and Shakira Brown, John and Heather Jackson and Jamal Brown; his sisters-in-law and spouses, Martha and Ronald Ferguson, Rochelle and Richard Franklin; his grandchildren, Dewena, Mister II, Shaquille, Deon, Quan, Qu'Shaiana, Shikym, Harvey III, Amir, Ziar, Amanti and Kayla; his great-grandchildren, Kal'Lani, Nala, Luna, Lai'Auna, Mi'sier, Reily, Ryan, Mylan, Mario, Ke'Mari and Jace; his godgrandsons, Levar, Mike, Avery and Christopher and his two very special goddaughters, Sparkle Washington and Janisha Adams, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Harvey's life will be celebrated on Friday, February 25 in the Sanctuary of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Apostolic Resource Center at 1201 N. 17th St., Harrisburg with viewing from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. COVID-19 Guidelines will be observed with face masks for all attendees.
