He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Koons and Emma Koons (Reidell); his wife Mildred "Millie" Koons; his grandson Robby Krell; and his siblings, Marian Cassel, George Koons, Helen Pletz, Mary Mumma, Betty Houck, Eleanor Cline and Norma Shelahamer.
He is survived by: his daughter Emily Peterson (Andy); his granddaughter Bryanna Schoffstall (Evan); his great grandchild Sienna Schoffstall; his son Don Koons (Deb); his grandchildren, Alicia Crankfield (E. C.) and John Krell (Ashley); his great grandchildren, Erick (Zhane), Anthony, Trinity Crankfield, Avery and Michael Krell; his great great grandchildren, Zurielle and Evelyn Crankfield; his son Chad Koons (Raychel); his grandchildren, Emma and Jackson Koons; and his sister Annetta Rexrode. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
