He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William M. and Nellie Devine Lewis LaVia; his daughters, Mary Zimmerman of Newport, Darlene McHugh (Patrick) of Harrisburg, Christine Schindel (Samuel) of Morgantown, WV, Lorraine LaVia (Bruce Mulock) of Arlington, VA, Diane LaVia-Ricci (John) of Palmyra and Michelle Caicedo (Christian) of Lewisberry; his sister Mary Brown of Mechanicsburg; his sister-in-law Sheila Laughlin; his brother William "Bull" LaVia, Jr.; and his son-in-law William Zimmerman. He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
