He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Andrew Lawton and Ann Lawton (Armstrong); and his sister Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Benzinger. He is survived by: his girlfriend Sandra "Sandy" Lovell (Tate); his children, Richard "Rick" Charles Lawton (Terry) of Parkesburg, Mary "Kim" Kimberly Martz (Kenneth "Ken") of Eagleville, Kelly Ann Lawton of Tennessee and Christopher "Chris" Patrick Lawton of West Virginia; and his grandchildren, Lacey Lawton, Zachary Lawton, Meredith Martz and Kendall Lawton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
