She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry McQuiston and Gwendolyn McQuiston (Carrier); her husband Thomas Hewitt; her son Bret Wayne Smith; and her brother Dale McQuiston.
She is survived by: her children, Clayton Smith (Lori) of Harmonsburg and Yvonne Balderson (Dan) of Redmond, Oregon; her grandchildren, Jacqueline Smith of Meadville, Captain Justin Smith (Kristin) of Saint Robert, Jillian Balderson of Redmond, Oregon and Danielle Balderson of Redmond, Oregon; her great grandchild Madalyn Smith; and her siblings, Donald McQuiston (Barbara) of Meadville and Judy Knepple of Michigan.
